Timing of butler arrival and guest arrival are crucial for the most impact. Our Naked Butlers always attempt to arrive at your party 10 to 15 minutes early so that they can change and find out what you want them to do, eg do you want them greeting and taking coats or greeting and serving a welcome drink? However if you tell your guests to arrive at 8pm but they come 15 minutes early, then the butler wont be ready and you will have lost the big impact you wanted. So be specific on your invitation about guest arrival times. If your guests don't know the area where you live then print one off Googlemaps and email it or enclose it with your invitation.

You need to think about the number of guests you are having and the type of drink(s) guests will be drinking so that you provide enough of the right kind of glasses. Eg if there is a welcome drink of bubbly followed by mainly wine, then you’ll need champagne flutes for bubbly , followed by wine glasses, followed probably by highball glasses for spirit and mixer drinks. Its better to have too many glasses than run short, otherwise your Naked Butler will be in the kitchen washing more up when you want him to be out on show with the guests. For best effect he needs to serve all the drinks from silver/ stainless steel trays. (very easily and cheaply bought in your local supermarket - ASDA and Wilkinsons sell them for under £4 each).
Think about what you want the butler to serve to the guests in the way of food, we’ve found that if the canapés and finger foods are already chilled on trays in the fridge(s) all the butler needs to do is remove the cling wrap and offer it to your guests whilst charming them with his good looks and cheeky personality. However if he needs to tray it all up first, it will mean he is again out of sight in the kitchen. If you are doing a staff party, or a baby shower or just a girlie night in, there's no reason why the American supper idea shouldn't be adapted to a butler party. With an American supper, every guest brings a bottle and a plate of food for sharing. This keeps the cost of the party really low and takes the strain of catering off the hosteses shoulders, but everyone still has a really great time! ( In addition to this the problem of having enough fridge space to chill the food and the drinks is removed because everyone chills their own food and drink before they come, then its consumed within a couple of hours.)
Make sure there’s as much space as possible for guests and butlers to circulate freely.
If the guests you are inviting are used to being entertained rather than chatting with each other it would be worth asking your friends and the web for some games suggestions prior to the event. If you are doing games, remember to buy prizes (chocolate bars are usually a big hit with any lady!)
